Our curriculum aims to train clinician scientists dedicated to advancing gynecologic oncology. As a fellow, you’ll hone your skills in university and county hospital settings to provide patients exceptional care.
Curriculum Highlights
- Three-year (36-month) ACGME accredited training program
- 12 months of dedicated research time with an emphasis on translational and bench research.

- Opportunity to work with translational research faculty who focus on science and education. Experienced faculty help you develop an individualized and successful research thesis.

Curriculum by Year
Your PGY - 5 consists of at least 90% research time (likely translational research).
Clinical focus: Palliative care and chronic pain management with longitudinal palliative care conferences.
Didactic clinical focus:
- Understand the mechanisms for chronic pain in patients with chronic gynecologic cancer.
- Improve communication (including cultural competency) when breaking bad news in the setting of family discord.
- Discuss the transition from curative or life-prolonging therapy to focus on comfort.
Clinical rotations: two one-month blocks, including surgical oncology and Riverside University Health System’s gynecologic oncology services.
Didactic clinical focus: Treatment and pathophysiology of ovarian and endometrial cancer.
Clinical rotations: two one-month blocks, including radiation oncology and Riverside University Health System’s gynecologic oncology services.
Didactic clinical focus: Treatment and pathophysiology of vulvar and vaginal cancers; gestational trophoblastic disease and neoplasia.
