Yes, Loma Linda University Health is a Seventh-day Adventist institution. In keeping with the traditions of the Adventist church, LLU promotes a healthy lifestyle to staff and patients. Most importantly, we utilize a whole person care approach to the practice of medicine — caring not only for the physical, but also the emotional and spiritual needs of our patients.
You will observe these in various aspects of the program, ranging from the vegetarian cafeterias on campus to the value that the attendings and other staff place on all patients.
Not at all. Loma Linda University wholeheartedly accepts residents and staff from all backgrounds and religious beliefs, making it a very comfortable work environment.
Yes. All three hospitals have a "night float" system for inpatient ward services. The system varies at each hospital.
Loma Linda University has very competitive residency programs. We recognize that many outstanding physicians come from all over the world. In our quest for well-trained, highly qualified individuals, we will review all completed applications.
We do accept international graduates. There is no specific minimum score requirement for United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) scores. In recent years, the international medical graduates who were offered interviews had competitive board scores.
